What is GRAMA?
In 1991, the Utah Legislature enacted the Government Records Access and Management Act (GRAMA) under Title 63G, Chapter 2 of the Utah Code, giving the public the right to access information.
Police Department Records Request
St. George Police Department has ten business days after receiving a written request to provide the record, deny the request, or notify the requestor that due to an extraordinary circumstance under UCA 63G-2-204, the record will not be available until a later date. To follow up on the status of your request, please contact the Police Records Department at 435-627-4301.
- Requests for reports can be delivered via email.
- Depending on the status of the case, these records may not be available at the time of your request
Fees
A governmental entity may charge a reasonable fee to cover the governmental entity's actual cost of providing a record. The first 15 minutes of research and response by the agency are provided to the requestor without charge, with limitations. Per 63G-2-203, this may include the direct administrative costs and staff time for search and retrieval.
- Staff time for preparation, review and redaction of police reports & traffic accident report: $17.27 per hour, first 15 minutes is free*
- Staff time for preparation, review and redaction of body cam: $22.25 per hour, first 15 minutes is free*
- Black and white photocopies $.25 per page Color $.50 per page
- Photos: $5.00 for each cd
- Dispatch audio: $46.50 per hour
