Frequently Asked Questions
- Who is considered a "resident"?
A resident here at the Sand Hollow Aquatic Center is anyone who lives within St. George, Santa Clara or Ivins. Those three respective cities contribute to the upkeep and maintenance of the facility through taxes. To express our gratitude, we offer residents of these cities a slightly reduced rate.
- Do you provide lifejackets at the facility?
Yes! We offer lifejackets free of charge. Please feel free to use ours or bring your own, so long as they are US Coast Guard approved. Please note, any child 3 years of age or younger must wear a lifejacket at the facility. Any child who struggles to swim must also wear a lifejacket. This rule is in place to protect the safety of all. This rule may be applied at the staff's discretion.
- Can I receive a refund?
All transactions are final. Once a payment has been made, we are unable to return the funds. Please speak with our staff regarding the possibility of receiving credit toward future use of the facility or another city-run recreation facility. We are not liable for any circumstances beyond our control. Please email timothy.key@sgcity.org if you have any questions regarding our refund policy.
- Is there an age or height limit?
All patrons 13 years of age or younger must be accompanied by an adult 18 years of age or older for the duration of their visit to the facility. There is no height limit for our attractions. Use of any attraction is based upon the safety of the individual and may change as circumstances dictate. Staff may prohibit use of any attraction at their discretion.
- Does the pool close for swimming lessons?
Yes, the facility is generally closed from 5pm-6:30pm Monday through Thursday. This closure is to provide our swimming instructors and students with a quiet, distraction free environment, as well as private time for our various swim teams.
- What temperature is your pool?
Our facility features two separate pools, a recreation pool and a lap pool. The recreation pool is kept at approximately 88 degrees F. Our lap pool is maintained at a lower temperature and is kept at approximately 81 degrees F.
- Can we bring in our own food or drink items?
Yes, you are welcome to bring in outside food or drink so long as you follow our facility policy. We do require that all food/drink items are consumed in any of our designated areas. This includes in our front lobby (if space is available), our tables and chairs set up on the pool deck, or outside in our backyard. Please note, State Health Code requires all individuals to keep food and drink 10 feet or further away from the pool.
- Can I call the Sand Hollow Aquatic Center for matters regarding the St. George City Pool?
Yes! We are more than happy to help you schedule reservations, swimming lessons, or answer any questions regarding our sister facility, the St. George City Pool.
- Are you hiring?
