Welcome to the City of St. George Fire Department
The City of St. George Fire Department is made up of 31 full time staff along with a reserve staff of 70. The eighteen full time firefighters and nine captains work rotating 24 hour shifts and each night three reseve spend from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. at station #1, #7, and #8 providing for a four person crew at night. The Fire Chief, Deputy Chief, Battalion Chief and administrative captain work the day shift and are on call after hours.

The department includes eight stations located geographically throughout the city. The reserve staff is assigned to the station nearest to their home. All reserve staff carry pagers and respond as needed. The department handles all fires, ems, hazmat incidents, vehicle extractions, and other calls for assistance as needed within the city boundaries. In addition, the department serves as needed for backup on large incidents within the county. The department also performs inspections for compliance with fire codes and provides BLS medical services for the City.
