This is Southern Utah's longest running half marathon, attracting up to 2500 runners. In its 37th year, this spectacular race is on paved city trails that wind along the Virgin River and take you through the beautiful landscape of St. George. Pre and Late-Entry race registration fee includes a St. George Half Marathon T-Shirt, finisher medal for all 1/2 Marathon, 5K and Move It! Kids finishers, chip timing, and post-race refreshments. We can not confirm a shirt for those who register at the Expo or the day of the event. 

Kids Race Distances: 1 Mile, 1/2 Mile, 200 Meter Dash

Aid Station Information:

Aid stations will be located at approximately miles 2.2, 4.9, 6.4, 8.6, 10.9, and one will be at the turnaround for the 5K. Water and Gatorade will be available at each aid station and Gu will be available at aid stations 6.4 and 8.6.

Expo/ Packet Pickup:

Friday, January 18, 2019 from 1 to 8 pm at the Dixie Convention Center.  Registration will be available at the Expo/Packet Pickup for an additional fee and no shirt is guaranteed. 

Award and Medals:

Awards will be 3 persons deep in each 5-year age category for both Men and Women. All Half Marathon, 5K, and Move It! Kids Finishers will receive a medal upon completion!

Frequently Asked Questions

You should have received an email confirming your race entry. If you did not or if you can not find the email, you can confirm your entry yourself by going to https://secure.getmeregistered.com/confirm.php#top and searching your name. If you don't see your name, you either searched the wrong name or aren't registered. The search bar will search exactly what is typed, so if you did misspell something (either in the search or during registration) it will not show up. 
Every runner, regardless of race, recieves a finisher medal. This means if you run the Half Marathon, 5k or Kids Events you will recieve a finisher medal. Awards will be 3 deep in each 5 year age category. 
Yes, but to a certain point. The course will close at 3 hours and 30 minutes which is a 16:00 minute per mile pace.
Because many parts of the course are open and near or along roads, we discourage their use. However, they are still allowed but we ask those using them to be extremely careful of their surroundings.   
Baby Strollers are allowed on the course as long as you are respectful and courteous to the other runners around you by starting near the back of the race.
Clothing retrieval will be provided at the aid stations. All clothing will be brought back to the finish line area for retrieval. However, there will be a delay in clothing being brought back to the finish line as it will be picked up after the last runner. 
Volunteers play a very helpful and important role during all of SGR events and we always need volunteer help. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Dwan Serrano at dwan.serrano@sgcity.org. You will get service hours and a shirt!
Parking will be avaiable at the Dixie Convention Center and the surrounding streets. 
The expo and race start and finish will be at the Dixie Convention Center located at 1835 S. Convention Center Drive. There are numerous hotels around that area. Additionally, there are numerous hotels throughout St. George. There is a list of hotels on this webpage. We recommend booking a hotel sooner rather than later because it is very likely that every hotel room in St. George will be booked for the St. George Half Marathon.  Go to www.sgcity.org/hotels for a list of hotels that have partnered with where discounts might be available. 
Due to the constantly changing nature of the weather, pun intended, we can not give you an answer regarding that. Additionally, no one on our staff is a meteorologist so we recommend looking online (at a site that specifically deals with the weather which is not this one) for updates. 
SGR Policy states that we do not give refunds. We can transfer your race registration to someone else as long as that is done a week before the event. When it is the week of the event, we will not transfer race registration from one person to another. Additionally, you can defer your entry to a future race. 
No. Dogs are not permitted on any of our courses. If you bring your dog with the intention of having it run with you, you will be asked to leave. It's not that we aren't dog people but even the friendliest of dogs still bite and we want to ensure the safety of all of our runners and spectators. For that reason, we will also ask anyone with a dog in the finish area to leave as well. 
Not necessarily. We can not give you a shirt at packet pickup as those go to who pre-registered. Check with us after the event to see if we have extra shirts. In the case we do, you can get one. They will be given out at a first come, first serve basis. 
No. Discounts will not be accepted to register at packet pickup or the day of the event. In order to receive a discount, they must be used before online registration closes.
