This is Southern Utah's longest running half marathon, attracting up to 2500 runners. In its 37th year, this spectacular race is on paved city trails that wind along the Virgin River and take you through the beautiful landscape of St. George. Pre and Late-Entry race registration fee includes a St. George Half Marathon T-Shirt (shirt not guaranteed for day before/day of registrations), finisher medal for all 1/2 Marathon, 5K and Move It! Kids finishers, chip timing, and post-race refreshments. We can not confirm a shirt for those who register at the Expo or the day of the event.  Kids Race Distances: 1 Mile, 1/2 Mile, 200 Meter Dash Aid Station Information: Aid stations will be located at approximately miles 2.2, 4.9, 6.4, 8.6, 10.9, and one will be at the turnaround for the 5K. Water and Gatorade will be available at each aid station and Gu will be available at aid stations 6.4 and 8.6.  Start Time Information: 9:00am Half Marathon Distances (Runners and Competitive Walking Division)  9:15am 5K  11:00am Move IT! Kids Expo/ Packet Pickup: Friday, January 18, 2019, from 1 to 9 pm at the Dixie Convention Center.  Registration will be available at the Expo/Packet Pickup for an additional fee and no shirt is guaranteed.  Award and Medals: Awards will be 3 persons deep in each 5-year age category for both Men and Women. All Half Marathon, 5K, and Move It! Kids Finishers will receive a medal upon completion! Time Limits: Please be aware that all athletes must finish the race in 3 hours and 30 minutes- roughly a 16-minute mile. Athletes who have not finished by this time will be allowed to stay on the course but will not have course support, the clock will be stopped and taken down, and those over 3.5 hours will receive and DNF (did not finish) in the official results.  Competitive Walking Division: The 2018 Snow Canyon Half Marathon will be the first time in which we'll offer a competitive walking division. We're excited to host this new category at this already outstanding event. For more information on race walking and power walking, please click here or here. Races walkers and power walkers are welcome to compete in the 5K, but we are only offering a special walking division (with awards) for the half marathon. We will have staff on the course to make sure our competitive walkers and actually walking and not running, so follow the honor system and stay walking or you will be caught! Please note that there will be a 3.5-hour time limit for all division's including this division (in correlation with the 3.5-hour time limit for the half marathon), so we recommend that casual walkers not sign up for this division.  The St. George Half Marathon is a USATF Certified Course!

Prohibited activities include: No discharge of fireworks within the areas listed No firecrackers, cherry bombs, roman candles, bottle rockets, single or reloadable mortars, or other Class "C" fireworks not State of Utah approved. Recreational fires, unless the location is approved by the fire department (click here for recreational burning regulations) Welding, cutting, or grinding within the areas listed, unless approved by the fire department. No sky lanterns.   Fireworks restrictions are in effect, and it is important that you understand which locations throughout the city are restricted and considered dangerous for personal fireworks use.  We hope that you find this webpage useful in identifying these areas.  Local fireworks retailers will also have maps available for you to view.  Your help in keeping our community safe this holiday season is very much appreciated.    Safety TipsThe lighting of fireworks on holidays have become a tradition with many families.  If families act responsibly with legal fireworks activities, they should have an enjoyable holiday.  The vast majority of legal displays occur without incident.  The majority of fire incidents that occur are a result of illegal or improper fireworks discharges.  Be smart, safe, and responsible.  Use only fireworks purchased in the State of Utah from licensed dealers or retailers. If you purchased the fireworks out of state, they may not be legal in this state.  You will be cited if found to be in possession of illegal fireworks, and will be responsible to pay for damages and extinguishing costs as a result of any fires that you cause. Use fireworks only with responsible adult supervision at all times. Never allow young children to handle fireworks. Light the fireworks in an open area and on a non-combustible surface, such as a driveway or paved area.  If windy conditions exist, do not light fireworks. Keep a bucket of water available. Handle used and "dud" fireworks with a shovel. Soak fireworks thoroughly in a bucket of water, or douse them with a hose prior to disposal. Keep clear while lighting fireworks, and do not lean over them at any time. Do not relight “dud” fireworks. Watch out for your pets and animals.  It is preferable to keep them indoors and away from the displays. Check for any restrictions that may apply to your area.
