The Park Planning Division provides long-range planning and implementation of new parks, regional trails, other open-space recreational facilities, and major upgrades to existing parks and trails. Park Planning updates the City's Parks and Trails Master Plan and prepares long-term capital budgets.
The rapid growth in this community has fueled a tremendous demand for neighborhood and regional parks, trails and the landscaping of facilities and rights-of-way. The City Council has mandated that a neighborhood park be located within a half mile of every resident. The Park Planning division was created in 2004, and is currently staffed by 3 landscape architects and support staff. Since 2004, this division designed and built multiple parks, trails and sports complexes.
The city has started to update its Parks and Recreation Master Plan, which was previously adopted in 2006. The project will include substantial public involvement, and the city wants to hear from you! Learn more…
