Welcome to SGO's Summer Series Mountain Biking.

This 4 day camp will explore multiple different biking locations in and around the St. George area.  Never mountain biked before? No problem!  We provide all the needed gear, instruction, and transportation to and from everyday. SGO's instructor team will spend time each class teaching the different skills needed to ride safely and ride well.  Join us for an adventure!

COVID-19 Policies

All students must provide and wear a mask during transportation in city vehicles.  See the FAQ's below for additional policies in place to address Covid-19

The following is a list of all protocols that SGO has implemented to address Covid-19:

  • Staff will be provided gloves and masks to use during work. Due to the nature of our outdoor programming, masks and gloves may not be feasible while mountain biking. These items will be required when they do not impact staff's ability to keep the highest level of risk management and safety.
  • All staff and students will wash their hands in hot soapy water for at least 20 seconds before and after each program.
  • No food or drink inside of any vehicle.
  • Hand sanitizer will be present during all programming.
  • When possible staff and students will remain 6 feet apart. For risk management and safety reasons this will not always be possible.
  • Any staff or student who displays any signs or symptoms of any illness will be asked to leave immediately.  Once the symptoms of the illness are gone they may return to the program.  Credit will be issued to your Rec Center account for any missed classes.
  • Students and staff must wear a mask in the vehicles while being transported.  Anyone not wearing a mask will not be allowed in the vehicles.
  • Anyone considered a "high risk" individual or anyone living with a "high risk" individual is asked not to enroll in our programs until we have moved into the green zone as outlined by the Utah Leads Together Plan.
  • All vehicles will be disinfected before each class, after getting to each location, and after each class.
  • All equipment will be disinfected before and after each class.

We ask that students wear clothing that is appropriate for being active in; this includes closed toed shoes for mountain biking.  A small backpack to carry at least 2 liters of water is recommended and a snack. For our watersports program we ask that all students show up with a towel and sunscreen applied.  We will be outside during the highest UV concentration of the day and sun burns are likely without sunscreen.  Any emergency supplies, such as inhaler or epi pen should also be brought and instructors should be informed of its location.

Yes. This classes are open to youth ages 11 and up.

Yes.  This often happens when we have storms that come through either when our class is scheduled or 24 hours before.  The heavy rains can soak the trails and rocks taking up to 48 hours to dry up, otherwise we would cause damage to them.  Our goal is to let you know at least 2 hours before class if it will be cancelled and sometimes a last minute storm will make this time frame shorter.  In the event a class is cancelled you will receive a text message letting you know of the change.

Any make up class will be scheduled for the Friday of that week.  You will receive both a text message informing you of the class cancellation and a follow up email reminding you of the make up class. If the make up class was to be cancelled, your account with the Rec Center would be credited for the cost of the missed class and can be used to sign up for future classes.

No, however we will work with you to find a class in the future that is open.  We are unable to have groups larger than 12 students on the different lands that we use for our programs.

Withdrawal/ Transfer less than 7 days prior to the start date may be subject to a fee. No refunds will be given on or after that date
