WORK MEETING

NOVEMBER 29, 2018, 4:00 PM

OPENING:   

Mayor Pike called the meeting to order and welcomed all in attendance.  The invocation was offered by Larry Meyers from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Councilmember Hughes.

 

The Mayor and Councilmembers spoke about events that are taking place in the near future.

 

DISCUSSION REGARDING THE NAMING OF ROADS AT TECH RIDGE:

Dave Nilsson with Tech Ridge, LLC provided a map outlining the existing and proposed names.  The Mayor and Council would like him to reach out to Kelle Stephens, President of the Dixie Applied Technical College.

 

UPDATE ON PROPOSED REVISIONS TO TITLE 10 OF CITY CODE:

Community Development Director John Willis provided a copy of the draft provisions after which he presented, and the Council discussed, a PowerPoint presentation covering the following topics: Title 10; Chapter 2: Definitions; Chapter 3: Appeals and Variances – Pg 18; Chapter 7: Residential Zones – Pg 30; Chapter 7: Residential Zones; Use Tables; Development Standards Table; Chapter 7C: Multiple-Family Zones; Chapter 7D: Mobile Home Zones; Article E: Residential Central City (RCC) Zone – Pg 44; Article F: Planned Development Residential – Pg 47; Planned Development Residential; Chapter 8: PD-C, Commercial Zones, AP, and MF Zones – Pg 60; Article A: Planned Development Commercial (PD-C) – Pg 61; Chapter 13A: Hillside Development and Geologic Hazards Overlay Zone; Chapter 13B: Resort Overlay Zone – Pg 100; Chapter 13C: St. George Arts District Overlay Zone – Pg 101; Chapter 14: Outdoor Lighting – Pg 111; Chapter 17: Permitted with Standards and Conditional Use Permits – Pg 114; Chapter 18: Walls, Fences, and Hedges – Pg 131; Chapter 19: Off Street Parking Requirements – Pg 134; Chapter 19: Off Street Parking Requirements; Chapter 20: Motor Vehicle Access and Loading – Pg 139; Chapter 21: Landmark Sites – Pg 141; and Chapter 25: Landscape Standards – Pg 148.

 

Councilmember Arial left the meeting at approximately 6:30.

 

A discussion took place regarding Code Enforcement issues and who the Council would like to hear input from on the proposed changes.

No reports were given.

 

ADJOURN TO CLOSED SESSION:          

MOTION:      A motion was made by Councilmember Randall to adjourn to a closed session to discuss potential property purchase.

SECOND:        The motion was seconded by Councilmember Hughes.

VOTE:             Mayor Pike called for a roll call vote, as follows:

 

Councilmember Hughes – aye

Councilmember Randall – aye

Councilmember Baca – aye

         

The vote was unanimous and the motion carried.
