BI-ANNUAL Bike with pike family bike ride and bbq event is coming!
St. George, Ut.- October is the month when thousands converge on St. George and surrounding communities to enjoy pleasant temperatures and a variety of outdoor recreational activities and events. One of those events, the bi-annual “Bike with Pike” event is coming up on Monday, October 24, 2016 at the Confluence Trailhead by the Dixie Center at 5:30 pm.
“Bike with Pike” is family friendly bike ride with Mayor Pike, members of the St. George City Council, St. George Active Transportation Committee and Southern Utah Bicycle Alliance. The event features a free hotdog BBQ, music, bike rodeo and a ride with Mayor Pike along a section of the City’s trail system.
Recently, new way-finding signage has been erected along sections of the Virgin River Trail system to help residents and visitors know where trails lead and how long they can except to get to specific destinations. Mayor Pike together with members of the Southwest Utah Public Health Department who helped to fund the new signs, will give the public a preview of the signs and briefly explain the plan to use them on trails as well as along bike lanes on city streets.
This is a great opportunity to bring the whole family and their bikes as we celebrate one of the many reasons why we love our great community!

WHAT: Free BBQ, music, bike rodeo for kids and two riding options: Option 1. Ride the Mayor’s Loop along the Virgin River 5.2-mile loop. Option 2. One-mile (total) out and back for young kids.
