ST. GEORGE CITY COUNCIL MINUTES

Mayor McArthur called the meeting to order and welcomed all present. The pledge of allegiance was recited and the invocation was offered by Susan Wiltsey from Grace Episcopal Church.
Mona Given and Kathy Thayne, representing the World Senior Games, advised that there are approximately 9,000 athletes participating in the Games this weekend, up 900 athletes from last year.
DISCUSSION WITH LEGISLATORS:
Senator Bill Hickman and Representative Dave Clark were in attendance to address issues of concern. Issues briefly discussed included the gasoline tax, flood relief, the Atkinville Interchange, recommendations from the ULCT tax team, and RDAs.
City Attorney Shawn Guzman distributed draft copies of a proposed rental ordinance and reviewed it with those present.
Council Members Orton and Gardner were excused from the meeting.
DRAINAGE ISSUES IN THE SUNSET SUBDIVISION:
Public Works Director Larry Bulloch presented a power point presentation on drainage/flooding issues in the Sunset and Graham Subdivisions. $200,000 was budgeted in this year?s budget to help address this problem, not knowing the extent of the problem. A house to house survey was conducted by Dave Black of Rosenberg Engineering. Mr. Bulloch then presented three options for remediation: (1) a shallow system at a cost of $309,000, (2) a dual deep pipe system at a cost of $661,000, and (3) a deep single option at a cost of $472,000.
Council Member Bunker was excused from the meeting.
Since a quorum was no longer present, no other official business was conducted.
