St. George Housing Authority

 

St. George Housing Authority (SGHA) is to assist low-income families with safe, decent and affordable housing opportunities as they strive to achieve self-sufficiency and improve the quality of their lives.

SGHA offers public housing, Section 8 programs, emergency rental assistance, and low income rental resources.

Switchpoint

 

Switchpoint is a 24/7 homeless shelter seeking to empower those in need by addressing the underlying cause of poverty; providing a comprehensive plan, and supporting their journey to self-sufficiency.

Switchpoint offers emergency shelter, emergency food pantry, residential treatment, community soup kitchens, drop in services, social detox, connections to affordable housing, and more

Five County Community Action

 

Five County Association of Government’s Community Action Partnership (CAP) stabilizes and empowers low-income households in moving towards self-sufficiency.

They offer services such as programs such as VITA, deposit assistance, gas voucher, food pantry, rapid re-housing, rental assistance, and water/sewer assistance. Please check their website for details and specific requirements of each program.

Dove Center

 

The DOVE Center works to empower those impacted by domestic abuse and sexual violence. They provide a safe shelter and trauma-informed services to facilitate healing and recovery, as well as engaging and educating youth to understand safe, healthy relationships to break cycles of violence in families and the community. 

The DOVE center offers a 24/7 helpline, safety planning, advocacy support, rape and sexual assault victim advocacy, counseling and support groups, case management, child and youth programs, residential services, lethality assessment programs, and more.

Five County H.E.A.T Program

 

The Home Energy Assistance Target program, known as H.E.A.T., is a federally-funded energy assistance program. The goal of the program is to assist eligible individuals and families meet the higher costs of energy during the winter and summer.  The program typically runs from November 1 through September 30.

The program may provide one-time assistance to low-income residents per program year. Target groups for the program include families with children age five (5) and younger, the elderly, and residents with a disability.
