Emily Rae is a proud resident of St George and has lived in Southern Utah for ten years. She was born and raised in Utah Valley, where visits to the public library helped her discover the power and magic of writing and creative expression. Her interest in writing accelerated in high school while taking a creative writing class led by science fiction & fantasy author Greg Park. In 2010, she moved to St George to attend Dixie State, where she served as an editor for Dixie Sun News and held leadership positions in DSU’s business and marketing club, DECA, graduating in 2016. After graduating, Emily formed and manage an informal writer's circle to help participants make progress and get assistance on their creative writing projects.
Saint George’s rich creative community helped Emily nurture her appreciation for creativity in all its forms, primarily written word, live music, film, pottery, and other visual arts. Professionally, Emily’s love for writing continues to serve her well as a digital marketer for a New York-based B2B Marketing Software company. During her free time, she enjoys making pottery at her home studio, caring for her houseplants, listening to podcasts and audiobooks, playing bass guitar, exploring the Southern Utah wilderness, and enjoying the company of her fiancée, dog, and two cats.
