Join us in this fun activity! Everyone is a winner in this triathlon. No awards for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place, but a finisher medal for everyone who finishes the triathlon and a BBQ for ALL participants. We are emphasizing kids getting out to exercise and not competition.

St. George Beginner, Sprint & Kids' Triathalon

Date: Saturday, April 19, 2008
Time: 8:00 am
Location: Sand Hollow Aquatics Center (1144 N. Lava Flow Dr.)

Kids (9-14 yrs): 100 meter swim, 2-mile bike, ¾ mile run.
Beginner: 200 Meter swim, 5-mile bike, 1.5 mile run.
Sprint: 400 meter swim, 10- mile bike, 5K run.

Triathlon starts and ends at the SHAC.
Pre-register accepted until April 4, 2008.
Late registration accepted until Wednesday, April 16 with a $10 late fee or until full.

7-8 yrs 25 yd swim, 1 mile bike, 1/4 mile run 10:00 am
9-10 yrs 50 yd swim, 2 mile bike, 1/2 mile run 9:45 am
11-12 yrs 100 yd swim, 2 mile bike, 1 mile run 9:30 am
13-14 yrs 150 yd swim, 3 mile bike, 1 mile run 9:15 am
15-16 yrs 200 yd swim, 3 mile bike, 2 mile run 9:00 am
Info:
1 length of the pool = 25 yards.
No Teams, event will not be professionally timed.
Participants will be given a number for the race and "bodymarked" for the swim.
Biking Section starts at Sand Hollow and ends at Snow Canyon High School. Participants will place his/her helmet, shoes, towel and any clothes next to their bike before the triathlon starts.
Bike sections will be marked for the different age groups.
After the Biking, sections will be marked at Snow Canyon High School for bikes to be placed in. The triathlon will finish with the run taking place on the track.
Free swimming and a BBQ for participants will take place at Sand Hollow after the triathlon is
over (about 11:00 am).
Each child is required to have a bike, bike helmet, swimsuit, and pair of athletic shoes.
Optional Items: Shirt and/or shorts to wear over his/her swimsuit during the bike and run
portions, socks, towel, goggles and sunscreen.

Tuff Kids Fun Bike Ride Sponsored by Cactus Hugger

Date: Saturday, April 26, 2008
Time: 9:00 am- Noon
Fee: FREE
Description: A new 5-mile loop has been added to the Cactus Hugger Cycling Festival just for kids. Children 7-18 years old are invited to ride a scenic loop course through Southern Utah. Children under 7 are invited to ride through a safety course at the Festival. There will be free bicycle helmet give-aways for the first 200 youth registered. The event is co-sponsored by the St. George Leisure Services Department.
