  Youth City Council Philosophy
The St. George Youth City Council is a self-directed group of teens who are charged with representing and advocating for youth to St. George's City Government and advocating for youth throughout the community.

As a collaborative effort, our main objectives are to develop future leaders, give formal voice to our youth, engage in civic education and service and improve conditions for local youth.

A Letter from Mayor Dan McArthur
It is with sincere enthusiasm I announce the launching of our Youth City Council Program for the City of St. George. The Youth City Council is open to all high school age students, grades 9 through 12, who meet the eligibility requirements and who are able to make the necessary time commitment it entails.

The Youth City Council is a prestigious organization that replicates the St. George City Council, but is administered by the youth of our community. It will be comprised of a Mayor, City Manager, Recorder, Historian, Communications Director, Recreation Director, Service Director and Council Members. You'll learn about the challenges and successes of local government, gain an understanding of the operations and functions, and take an active interest in addressing issues relating to local affairs, community events and youth issues.

Not only will it help improve your leadership, project development and management skills, it may just increase your chances of receiving a college scholarship!

So embrace the possibilities of your own potential . . . Join the Youth City Council Today!
