This is the filter gallery. There are 8 different filters made up of Anthracite coal and silica sand. The water is gravity fed through these filters allowing for small particulates to be filtered out. The control panels you see along the sides are used to control the valves and operate the system when it is time to clean the filters. This occurs every 40 to 60 hours depending on various process parameters.
