| The Gunlock Hydro Plant was put in service in 1987
and is located 15 miles West of St. George, 200 yards down stream from Gunlock
Reservoir. It has a twin vertical mounted Francis Turbine configuration.
The 2 Induction motors turn 1200 RPM and produce a combined total of 372
KW. The facility is primarily used for irrigation and the City gleans the
electric resource from water passing through it. Through SCADA the dispatcher
regulates the amount of irrigation water measured in Cubic Feet per Second
(CFS). The maximum flow is 52.4 CFS which equal 23,517.1 gallons per minute
at 30 PSI. Depending on the water supply, the season usually begins in January
and ends in October. |
