Water Conservation
   Utah & Water Conservation
We need water to live - but it is a limited:

We use more water during the summer when it rains the least.
Delivering water to our taps costs millions of dollars and is increasing.
Demand for water in the summer is out pacing our current supply.

Water Conservation Accomplishes Two Important Things:

It makes the best use of our precious water supply,
And it is usually the "least cost" alternative to a new water supply because of costs of building and maintaining new infrastructure.

How to Check For Leaks:

To check for a water leak, turn off all the water indoors and out, then check the water meter in your yard. If the meter is moving, chances are there is a leak. Try to determine if it is an indoor or outdoor leak. The City Water Department can help determine the extent of the leak. In some cases, older irrigation piping has been found to have several small leaks throughout the system. Your bill will reflect the differences as you look at consumption rates for prior year and current year (lower left hand corner).

Cost to Landscape:

If we compare to Business with the same size landscape area, we get the following results
