In order to help save power the City has created an energy saving plan.
The Plan is divide up into four levels, with each one being designed for
a different level of power conservation. Level 1 --
The city would implement voluntary restrictions on nonessential power
use.
Level 2 --
Commercial and residential customers would be required to reduce their
power demand by 10 percent.
The city would prohibit power use for outside signs and unnecessary
outdoor lights.
Level 3 --
The use of temporary power meters for other than required needs would
not be allowed.
Residential users would be limited to 85 percent of use levels for the
same month of the preceding year.
Commercial users would be required to reduce demand by 25 percent.
Level 4 --
City officials could implement a rolling blackout plan to affect an
immediate 25 percent reduction in power usage by dropping power circuits
or disconnecting them from the source.
A rolling blackout procedure also details how the city would handle
total loss of power of the 138 KV line from Central, Utah.
