GUIDELINES FOR DAY CAPTAINS
It is your responsibility to find a replacement if you are unable to fulfill your assignment, also to notify King Barlow at 673-5202 with the name of your replacement. If you are unable to reach King, leave word with Angie Mason at the Art Museum 634-5942 ext. 12.
It is imperative that you be on time and know the responsibilities of all involved. The success of the tour depends largely upon you being one step ahead of what needs to be happening.
Call all participants scheduled for your week 48 hours prior to their assignment to remind them of their commitment. They have been instructed to call you with the name of the replacement they have asked if they cannot come.
It is the responsibility of the bus drivers to keep the buses clean. Check the buses to make sure it has been done
Make sure all actors are in place and in costume. You should carry all scripts, daily actors information, and if possible, a cell phone in case of emergencies, and be prepared to fill in if necessary.
The museum is closed until 11 AM so all tickets will be sold at the ticket window in the Social Hall. We would like your help in directing guests there. Come early enough to have your other responsibilities out of the way.
Keys for the buses and some costumes will be kept in the Social Hall. Anticipate if a tour will be too large for buses to accommodate their maximum limit of 15 per bus and decide how the guests can be accommodated.
Suggestions are:
1. Divide the group. Group A would follow the normal schedule. Group B would not begin until Group A went in to the Opera House with Orson Pratt. The bus would not stay with either group, but shuttle the groups 15 minutes apart.
2. Either call in a 2nd driver, or the day captain would fill in as the 2nd driver in the 2nd bus. The driver or day captain would also fill the role as tour guide.
