Tonaquint Park is an oasis of nature in the heart of St. George. The ripple of the Santa Clara river, the rustle of cattails and the quick scamper of lizards are just some of the sounds at the Tonaquint Nature Center. Located at 1851 South Dixie Drive, just west of Southgate Golf Course, Tonaquint Nature Center offers outdoor educational programs for all ages.
Educational Programs
Throughout the months of June and July, the Tonaquint Nature Center hosts an interactive nature day camp for ages 4+ to 5th grade. Each day of camp is filled with new adventures, exciting experiments and opportunities to experience nature at its finest. Contact the St. George Recreation Center at (435)627-4560 for upcoming camp dates, fees and registration deadlines.
Volunteer
The Tonaquint Nature Center is operated by the City of St. George Leisure Services Department. The Nature Center relies on volunteers to host many of the programs. If you have a special area of interest or expertise and would like to contribute your skills, please contact the Nature Center at (435) 627-4590 or the St. George Recreation Center at (435) 627-4560.

St. George Winter Bird Festival
Thursday-Saturday, January 26-28, 2012
Don't miss the Annual St. George Winter Bird Festival presented by the Red Cliffs Audubon Society. This exciting three-day event offers an opportunity to explore and learn more about the significant natural areas of Southern Utah's birding hot spots. There will be field trips, workshops, presentations and bird walks throughout the weekend. On Saturday evening there will be a dinner highlighting keynote speaker, Mr. Chris Parrish at the Best Western Abbey Inn. Mr. Parrish is of the Peregrine Fund and a condor expert. A complete schedule of events and times can be viewed and downloaded here Pre-registration for the banquet is required by Friday, January 20 and the fee is $20 per person.
