PUBLIC NOTICE #11-0039 ATTENTION: Addendum #1 Extends bid closing date to Jan. 5th, 2012
Sealed bids will be received for the construction of the 2011 TRAIL REPLACEMENT, located along the Virgin River, adjacent to Webb Hill in St. George, Utah 84790. Bids must be submitted by 2:00 p.m., MST, December 20, 2011 to the City of St. George, Purchasing Department, at 175 East 200 North, St. George, Utah, 84770. Bids will be opened publicly and read aloud in the City Council Chambers. Each BID must be submitted in a sealed envelope, addressed to City of St. George, Attn: Connie Hood, CPPO, Purchasing Manager, Purchasing Department, 175 East 200 North, St. George, Utah 84770. Each sealed envelope containing a BID must be plainly marked on the outside BID #11-0039- 2011 VIRGIN RIVER TRAIL REPAIR NORTH OF I-15.
There will be a mandatory pre-bid meeting and site visit at the project site on December 13, 2011 at 2:00 pm, MST. Meeting will be at the City of St. George, Millcreek Facility located at 390 N 3050 E, St. George, Utah. Meeting will be followed by a site visit.
The BID includes the construction of the following items: repair of approximately 2,500 feet of trail along the Virgin River at seven separate sites, including riprap, asphalt, permit compliance and associated work as shown in the drawings.
A portion of the project funding was obtained through Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The successful contractor will be required to comply with multiple federal regulations required for construction projects. These regulations are outlined in the contract documents.
The engineering estimate for the base bid amount for this project is approximately $1,000,000.
Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained at the City of St. George Purchasing Department, 175 East 200 North St. George, Utah 84770 Monday, 12/5/2011, afteroon. Contract Documents may be obtained for a fee of $50.00 per printed set from the City of St. George. Make checks payable to City of St. George. An electronic version (on a CD only - No electronic transfer by email) can be obtained from the City at no charge. When requesting a copy be sent by mail, please enclose you FED X # for next day delivery.
A 100% performance – labor and materials bond will be required on this project. Every BID shall be accompanied by a bid bond in the amount of 5% of the bid, naming the City of St. George as oblige, this bid bond must be issued by a surety company licensed to do business in the State of Utah and be on a bond form acceptable to the City of St. George.
As required by St. George City Code 1-10B-14 a signed certificate of legal work status must accompany the BID.
City of St. George reserves the right to reject any, or all bids, or to waive any formality or technicality in any bid, in the interest of the City.
