REQUEST FOR BIDS No. 09-0038
CONSTRUCTION OF SUNTRAN ADMINISTRATION BUILDING
The City of St. George (Owner) is accepting separate sealed bids for the construction of the Suntran Administration Building, located at 953 Red Hills Parkway, St. George, UT from qualified construction firms or teams until no later than 2:00 p.m. on December 17th, 2009. Bids will then be publicly opened and read aloud in the City Council Chambers located in the City Offices, 175 E. 200 N., St. George, Utah.
The project scope of work consists of, but is not limited to, a two story building on concrete slab with an area of 5919 s.f.; wood framed truss roof structure with metal pitched roof as well as low sloped membrane roof, EIFS finish to exterior fascia and soffits, and exterior walls of stone and masonry veneer to match. Site finished with concrete surfaces and irrigated landscape and asphalt paving, curb and gutter, and retaining walls. Utilities include electrical feed, water and sewer connections.
Copies of the Contract Documents and Specifications are available at the offices of the Architect, Richard Chong and Associates, LLC, 244 Edison Street, Salt Lake City, UT 84111 801-364-1797 and the offices of the Civil Engineer, Premier Design & Engineering, Inc., 75 East 100 North, Ivins, Utah 84738 St. George, UT (435) 313-2267, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at a cost of $175.00/set, non of which is refundable.
A bid security in the amount of 5% (Bid Bond, certified check or cashier's check) of the total proposal price, drawn payable to the order of the Owner listed above, will be required to accompany bid. Said bid security shall be given as a guarantee that bidder will enter into a contract and furnish project as specified.
This project is being partially financed by Federal Transit Administration (FTA) of the United States Department of Transportation. The contract awarded will be subject to the financial assistance contract between FTA and the City of St. George. All bidders will be required to sign, if applicable, the following Federal certifications; Buy America Certification, Affirmative Action and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Statement, Certification Regarding Debarment and Suspension, Certification of Restrictions on Lobbying, and Certificate Regarding Cargo Preference.
The individual or firm selected will be required to comply with all applicable Federal and State laws, regulations and certifications, and equal employment opportunity laws and regulations. The City of St. George, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, and 49 CFR Part 26 will afford Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) full opportunity to respond and will not discriminate against any interested firm or person on the basis of race, color, sex, age, religion, or national origin in the review of qualifications or contract award.
Issuance of this IFB does not commit the City of St. George to award any contract, to pay any costs incurred in preparation of a proposal, or to procure or contract for services or supplies. The City of St. George reserves the right to waive any irregularities and informalities or to reject any or all proposals submitted, to re-advertise and to make contract awards in the best interest of the City of St. George.
