Volunteers In Public Safety (VIPS)

Many of our citizens want to give back to the community in which they live and have offered their services wherever they can be used. VIPS was formed after many months of research. These valuable volunteers donate many hours each month to the City of St. George assisting the police with many functions that do not require a certified officer such as serving subpoenas for court appearances, inspecting VIN numbers on cars and patrolling our streets in specially marked vehicles to address quality of life issues such as abandoned vehicles or those parked for sale and other nuisance violations. They assist with traffic control at accidents and assist with extra patrol functions such as parking lot patrols at holiday shopping times, the Marathon and Safe Neighborhood presentations.
