Predators often use parking lots to target women. 1-Be wary of the vehicle parked next to yours, especially if it's a van. Notice if there is a person sitting in it by the door next to your vehicle. Get into your car from the other side. 2- Be cautious of requests for help. Offer instead to get someone to help or to make a call for them. 3- Women tend to get in the vehicle and sit: do the checkbook, eat, making a call thus becoming a potential victim. Leave the parking lot immediately after getting in the car and move it to another location. 4- Don't put packages into your car and then go back in. Move the vehicle to another location and then go back in. If someone is watching you, they will think you are leaving the area and stop watching you. 5- Jog with a dog or a friend. Avoid cutting through parks and dark or secluded areas. |
