School Crossing Guards
Providing for the safety of our children as they go to and from school is a major priority for the Police Department and as such, we have many part time employees that assist the children to cross our streets and highways. They divide their day to provide for coverage before school, at lunch time and after school for the many elementary schools in our area.

Records
Our business office is open from 8 am to 5 pm on business days. Here you can get information about the department and assistance with reports. You can report crimes, pay for parking citations, get help from Victim Services and arrange for Community Oriented Policing events such as Neighborhood Watch and Mobile Watch.

Evidence
Our Evidence Room keeps track of all items of evidentiary value on all the cases that we take reports on, as well as caring for found property, such as bicycles, that is turned in to us. Those wanting to claim an item need to call prior to coming to make sure that our evidence personnel can be there (they are required to appear in court quite often and we want to save you a trip). If the item has been held as evidence in a court case, a letter from the prosecuting attorney is needed to release the item. You also need to provide proof of ownership so that we can release "your" property back to the right person. Being able to identify the item either through markings or serial numbers will enable us to make sure you get your property back if we receive it. Bring a photo ID to verify your identity. All unclaimed property is periodically released to an auction company to be sold at auction out of our area.

Victim Services
When police respond and make an arrest, there is often a victim of a crime. Many times the victims of crimes are at a loss as to what to do next. Our Victim Services Unit responds to the emotional, psychological and physical needs of these victims. Services include crisis intervention, support, counseling, referrals, and assistance with compensation and the criminal process. All of their efforts of service and support to victims and families are to reduce the trauma and reactions and bring about a sense of well being.

Budget
We have an officer in charge of the Police Department and Communications Center budgets. He is responsible for every order and expenditure, of every purchase order and every grant that we receive. We have grants and monies from many state and federal sources as well as donations from many local charity organizations that wish to contribute to our safety programs. With over 120 full and part time employees, numerous vehicles and other special equipment, this is a monumental task.
