Captain Farnsworth started in law enforcement in 1993. He was appointed to Captain by Chief Marlon Stratton in January 2006. He was previously the Captain of the Special Enforcement Division.
Lieutenant Moss has been in law enforcement since 1995. Currently Lieutenant Moss is assigned to the Patrol Division as a Watch Commander and also oversees the Crisis Negotiations Team. Lieutenant Moss has also worked as a School Resource Officer, Task Force Detective, Bicycle Sergeant, and SWAT Team member.
Sgt. Cowan currently serves as a Patrol Sergeant. He started his law enforcement career in 1992 in the Patrol Division as a patrol officer. Other assignments include: Field Training Officer, Motorcycle Officer and Supervisor, Gang Officer, and was one of the original four officers that started the Bicycle Unit in 1997. Sgt. Cowan is a Firearms Instructor for the police department and the Police Academy, Taser Instructor, and is on the SWAT team. He serves in the Utah Army National Guard’s 2/222 FA (Triple Deuce) and was deployed for Operation Noble Eagle and Iraqi Freedom.
Sgt. Harding began work for St. George City in 1981 and for the police department in 1981. Among his assignments during this time are as a patrol officer, a detective in the drug and alcohol division, a patrol sergeant and a school resource officer. He has also served on the SWAT team. Sgt. Harding received the Purple Heart award for a life threatening injury he received while on duty and also the Meritorious Service award for many years of dedicated service to the citizens of St. George.
Sgt. Feltner has been an officer since 2000. He began his career with the Hurricane Police Department and transferred to St George in 2004. He started in Patrol where he took part in the field training program. Thad is a member of the SWAT Team and a firearms instructor.
Officer Steve Powell has been employed by the St. George Police Department since 1994. He is currently working in Patrol and is assigned to the CAT 1 & 3 teams. He has worked many different assignments including a Narcotics K9 handler for 6 years and A Gang Detective on the Washington County Task Force.
Officer Todd Pitcher has been employed by the St. George Police Department since 2004. His primary assignment is patrol and is assigned to work with the area 1 & 3 CAT teams. Officer Pitcher is a member of the Crisis Negotiation team, works as a bike alternate, and helps train new officers.
Officer Schuman has been employed by the St. George Police Department since July 2005. His current assignment is Patrol and is assigned to the CAT 2 & 4 teams. He is fluent in Spanish which is a great asset to the department. Officer Schuman is a valuable member to our police department.
