Welcome to the St. George Police Department web site. I hope you find the information contained in our web site helpful. St. George is located in the southwest corner of Utah with I-15 running through our city. St.George borders Arizona on the south with the City of St.George spread out over approximately 75 square miles. St.George enjoys mild, low humidity winters with over 300 sunny days per year. The desert climate, elevation 2,760 feet, promotes year round recreation and leisure activities.

St. George, the Washington County Seat, is also the county’s largest city with over 75,000 residents. Washington County’s population is approximately 140,000 residents and growing at a rate of approximately 1000 new residents per month. This rapid growth brings several challenges to our police department.

We believe that because crime and public safety are community problems, the community and the police must work together to solve them. Citizens, the police department, other agencies and city government are equally responsible to carry out this mission. Each must be willing to work together, to become involved, and to cooperate with each other to help make our city more enjoyable and safer for all.

The St. George Police Department is committed to providing quality services to our diverse community in ways that are helpful, caring and responsive. We believe the success of our organization depends on integrity in everything we do, pride in our work, dedication to our citizens, and in being the best we can be!

The St. George Police Department is an outstanding police department because of the dedicated men and women of this department who are committed to maintaining the quality of life that we enjoy in St. George.
