C.A.T. Team 9/10 Information
Neighborhood Contacts
CAT 9/10 are currently working to have a representative from each community that will work directly with the citizen representatives. Karen Jorgensen, 2kj@infowest.com, is the representative for area 10. This area consists of the Springs, Stone Cliffs, Little Valley, Meadow Valley, the Knolls, the Boulders, Bloomington Hills, Jedora, Desert Hills, Serenity Hills, Bridle Gates, Painted Desert, and Fort Pierce Industrial. Anyone who would like to be part of the community teams are encouraged to contact Karen in CAT 10.

Transient Camps
CAT 9 & 10 officers have worked on locating transient camps in their areas, especially near the Virgin River. These officers have been successful in cleaning up several of these camps and holding those responsible accountable.

ATVs
A large volume of citizen complaints have come in and continue to regarding ATV's operating near residences and on roadways. All citizens in area 10 were notified through the mail of the City's standpoint regarding these issues. Officers working this area have increased enforcement and will continue to do so.

Sgt. Hartman began his law enforcement career working for the Iron County jail in 1995. In 1997 he went to work for the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. He has been with the St. George Police Department since January of 1999. He has worked as a patrol officer, bike patrol officer, gang detective, school resource officer, and is currently a Patrol Sergeant. He is a defensive tactics instructor; swat team member, and assistant team leader.

Police Officer Level 3 Jeff Bahlmann

Officer Bahlmann has been with the St George Police Department since June 2003. He is active with the field training program and an alternate on the mountain bike patrol. He is also an active member of the crisis intervention team.

Police Officer Level 3 Tyrell Bangerter

Officer Tyrell Bangerter has been employed by the St George Police Department since 2004. He is currently assigned to the patrol division. Officer Bangerter is a member of the Accident Investigation Team and investigates Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) cases within the community.

Police Officer Level 2 Steve Johnson

Officer Steve Johnson has been a Police Officer since 2001. He has been with the St George Police Department since 2005. He is currently assigned to the Patrol division and is a member of CAT 9/10. He serves on the accident reconstruction team and the Chiefs Council. Officer Johnson is a valuable member of our Police Department.

Officer Chamberlain has been with the St George City Police since September 2006. He is currently assigned to the patrol division.

Police Officer Level 1 Jud Callaway

Officer Callaway has been with the St George Police Department since December 2007. He is currently assigned to the patrol division.

Police Officer Level 3 Gage Schimbeck

Officer Schimbeck has been with St. George Police Department since October of 2000. He has worked as field training officer, a school resource officer, and is currently working as a patrol officer. Officer Schimbeck has been able to attend FBI and ATF explosive training and serves as a member of the hazardous device team or Bomb Squad as a bomb technician. He is also a haz-mat technician and serves on the southern Utah regional haz-mat team.

Police Officer Level 3 David Bithell

Officer David Bithell has been a Police Officer since 1997. He started for the Hurricane Police Department working as a reserve and was hired full time in May 1998. In August of 2000 he was hired by the St. George Police Department where he currently serves as a School Resource Officer. Officer Bithell is also a member of the Bomb Squad and haz-mat teams.

Investigations Detective Josh Wilson

Detective Wilson has been a member of the St George Police Department since 2002. He has been assigned to patrol for three years, motors division for two years and is currently assigned to the investigations division covering property crimes. Detective Wilson is also a member of the SWAT Team.

Police Officer Level 3 Stacy Richan

Been in law enforcement for 19 years, 16 of those with SGPD. Have been on the traffic unit, investigations, Gang and Drug task force, and my current assignment is with the School Resource program which I have been in for 3 years. I have a PTO for several years. I am also a accident re-constructionist,(10 years) and a Emergency vehicle Operations Instructor for the last 6 years.

Officer Spencer has been with the St George Police Department since October 1996. He has worked as a patrol officer and is currently assigned as a School Resource Officer, having worked at Millcreek High School and currently at Desert Hills Middle School.
