Accident Reconstruction Unit
 Some of the crashes that we are seeing extend beyond the capability of our patrol officers and special training is needed to determine how the crash happened and the laws that were broken that lead to the crash. Our Accident Reconstruction Team consists of several officers that have been to extensive training and gained certifications as Accident Reconstructionists from the two major agencies: NorthWestern University and the Institute of Police Technology and Management (IPTM). They assist the patrol officers in reconstructing very serious or fatal crashes and develop strategies to reduce the chance of a repeat occurrence.
