Cottonwood Cove Park

1027 South Dixie Drive Map

Cottonwood Cove Park is a 7 acre community park located next to the Santa Clara River. This park was dedicated the summer of 2008. Planning for the park began in the mid 1990’s. Part of the planned park project was on BLM property in which the city collaborated with the BLM to obtain that portion of the land. This park features plaques depicting events during the 2005 flood. Many of the homes that were washed away in the flood were located across the river from the park.

FEMA money from lost city property from this flood and State money was used to construct this park. The playground equipment is very unique and makes the user think on how to use it. The largest playground piece connects to the climbing wall via a rope bridge. The climbing wall is 9’ high and 40’ long and has several different routes to challenge the users. Other park amenities include two shade pavilions with picnic tables and barbeques, sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits, open grass areas, lush landscape, swinging benches overlooking the children’s playground, restroom facilities, and a loop trail. The Santa Clara River Regional Trail runs through the park.
