Bloomington / Sunriver Trail Re-Vegetation

  • Bloomington / Sunriver Trail Re-Vegetation

This re-vegetation project is part of the permit agreement and mitigation measures required by the Corps of Engineers for installation of the trail. On December 5th, with the assistance of Steve Meismer, Virgin River Program Co-ordinator, Robert Dobbs, Utah Division of Wildlife Resources and a group of boy scouts and parents a total of 700 willow stems were harvested and prepared for planting. The planting event took place on December 12th in a light snow flurry. The volunteer group planted over 600 willow stems along the new trail length from the Man-O-War bridge southward. The UDWR planted the remaining stems by hand a few days later to complete the project. Thank you to everyone who assisted with the harvesting and planting.
