Training Photo Galleries - Recruit Class 2008-1 begins training academy
St. George Fire completed its 2008 volunteer testing and began it recruit academy in March. The department selected eight recruits to begin this years recruit academy. The recruits were brought in for an orientation, issued uniforms and given a stack of training manuals. The academy is run on Tuesdays, Thursdays and some Saturdays for a total of sixteen weeks. Recruits will be trained to Utah State Certification standards for Firefighter I & II, Hazardous Materials Awareness & Operations. They we also get training in EMS, Technical Rescue, ARFF, Bomb Squad, and other specialties. Graduation will take place around the middle of July 2008.
