Regular meetings are held the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month. Meetings begin at 5:00 p.m. and are held in the City Council Chambers. Work meetings are held the 2nd, 4th and 5th Thursdays. Work meetings begin at 4:00 p.m. and are held in the Administrative Conference Room.
How do I get an item placed on the City Council Agenda?
Only the Mayor, City Council members, and City Manager have the authority to place items on an agenda.
How to do I approach the City Council to consider a request to change or create a new ordinance?
Requests to consider changing or creating new City ordinances can be emailed to the City Recorder at firstname.lastname@example.org.
How do I address the City Council concerning an agenda item?
Agenda items can be addressed by members of the audience if the item is a public hearing. Otherwise, only the Mayor can call on the public to speak.
How do I express my concern for an item not on an agenda?
The agenda for the first regular meeting of each month includes a “Comments From the Public” item. Simply complete a form and submit it to the City Recorder (forms are provided prior to the meeting).
Rules for speaking during this item:
1. You must be a resident of the City of St. George.
2. Each speaker will be given approximately 3 minutes.
3. Be courteous and show respect.
4. Comments cannot be related to pending issues on the agenda or likely to be on a future agenda.
