City Attorney's Office

The City Attorney’s Office manages the City’s legal affairs and acts as general counsel to the Mayor, City Council, City departments, boards, and commissions. The City Attorney’s office is committed to providing outstanding legal representation to meet the present and future needs of St. George City.

  • Civil Attorneys defend the interests of the City and provide advice necessary for making sound legislative and administrative decisions. They provide services that include preparation and review of ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and other legal documents, and conduct real estate transactions, land use planning, and activities associated with civil legal matters.
  • City Prosecutors, under the direction of the City Attorney and with the assistance from the legal support staff, prosecute Class B and C misdemeanors and infractions, including traffic offenses, committed in the City of St. George. Prosecutors appear in court on behalf of the City of St. George and prosecute cases in the Washington County Justice Court and in the Fifth District Court on appeal matters.
  • Risk Management, under the direction of the City Attorney, oversees the prevention of injuries to City employees and losses to City assets along with control of incurred losses.
