This program is designed to help customers implement an efficient irrigation system and to encourage the use of
moderate and low water use plant material suited for this area. Customers installing a new landscape or rehabilitating
an existing landscape are eligible to apply for the rebate. They may take advantage of one or both options of the
A rebate of up to $150 will be available for customers who have an installed an irrigation system designed by an
irrigation professional who meets at least one of the following qualifications:
- Irrigation Association Certified Irrigation Designer
- Landscape Architect
- Irrigation professional that has earned a WaterSense irrigation labeled certification
A rebate of up to $350 will be available for customers who install plant material identified as moderate or low water use
plants on the Washington County Plant List. The list is available on the City of St. George and Washington county Water
Conservancy District websites. The links are listed below.
At least 50% of the landscape area must be covered with live plant material (based on coverage at plant maturity)
excluding tree canopies. The landscape must comply with applicable City ordinances.
To receive the rebate a water audit is required after installation demonstrating the irrigation system meets at least
minimum efficiencies listed in the table below.
The audit can be conducted by an Irrigation Association Certified Water Auditor or through participation
in the Free Residential Water Audit Program offered by the City and Washington County Water

To be eligible applicants must meet the following criteria
A City of St. George Water Services Customer in good standing.
In the case of new construction, the home or business must be in the City of St. George serviceterritory with a water service to the property.
Submit an application with the appropriate documentation attached.
A copy of the irrigation plan which shows the designer and their certification
A copy of the plant material list with proof of purchase
A copy of the audit report demonstrating the efficiency of the irrigation system
The name, address and utility account number of the applicant
The City reserves the right to inspect the landscape/irrigation system as part of the application and
