Council Member - Gil Almquist
Council Member Gil Almquist
gil.almquist@sgcity.org

Gil has been coming to St. George since the 1970’s. As you can imagine, he has seen a lot of change. He and his wife, Jill, moved here permanently in 1982. Gil is a graduate of Dixie College and earned Bachelor and Masters degrees from Brigham Young University. Gil also received securities and finance training prior to working 10 years as an investment advisor and broker. Still his love is in landscaping. He started his landscaping company in St. George in 1984. It was his expertise in design and planning that earned him a position on the Hillside Draft Committee and the Planning Commission in 1992. He continued to serve on both commissions until his successful bid for election to the St. George City Council in 2007. Gil enjoys his three children and many happy memories of fun times in Dixie. It is love for this area, his family, and numerous friends that caused him to continue serving this community. He looks forward to working with anyone who has the same passion for making this a great place to live.

Council Member Almquist's current term expires December 31, 2011.
