Council Member - Robert Whatcott
Council Member Robert Whatcott

Robert Whatcott was elected to the City Council in November of 1995. He has been Council Representative to the Board of Adjustments, Administrative Services Department, the Arts Commission, and is currently over Leisure Services, Parks & Recreation, Golf, and the Community Education Channel. He is a strong supporter of the City's Master Plan and is committed to seeing it is kept current and followed in properly managing the growth and development in St. George.

Bob has spent 16 years in the Accounting profession, is a Certified Public Accountant, and owner of Whatcott & Associates, CPA's. He has also been involved in community activities having served on The Foundation for Students for Washington County board of directors, a non-profit arm of theWashington County School District that provide funding opportunities and achievements for local schools and students. He has also served as the chairman of the board for a non-profit organization that provides counseling, emotional guidance and services to troubled youth in Southern Utah, Arizona and New Mexico. He has served as a Bishop and other leadership roles in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, as well as coaching various youth sports teams in the area.

Bob was raised in southern Arizona and came to St. George in 1980. He is a graduate of Dixie College and Southern Utah University, majoring in Accounting and Business Administration. A die-hard sports fan, Bob was an All-American baseball player in college, and is still active in many sports, (especially golf), and recently ran the St. George Marathon. He and his wife, Deana, are the parents of four children, two boys and two girls.

Council Member Whatcott's current term expires December 31, 2007.
