April 10 2002 City Council Minutes ST. GEORGE CITY COUNCIL MINUTES SPECIAL MEETING APRIL 10, 2002, 11:30 A.M. ADMINISTRATION CONFERENCE ROOM PRESENT: Mayor Pro Tem Sharon Isom Council Member Rod Orton Council Member Suzanne Allen Council Member Larry Gardner City Manager Gary Esplin City Attorney Jonathan Wright City Recorder Gay Cragun EXCUSED: Mayor Daniel McArthur Council Member Bob Whatcott OPENING: Mayor Pro Tem Isom called the meeting to order and welcomed all in attendance. APPROVAL OF COOPERATIVE AGENCY AGREEMENT: Consider authorizing the Mayor's signature on a Cooperative Agency Agreement with the Aeronautical Operations Division of the State of Utah, Department of Transportation to appoint the Utah Aeronautical Operations Division as agent for the City for Project 3-49-0060-02 at the replacement airport. A motion was made by Council Member Orton and seconded by Council Member Gardner to approve the agreement and authorize the Mayor to sign it. Mayor Pro Tem Isom called for a vote, as follows: Council Member Orton - aye Council Member Gardner - aye Council Member Allen - aye The vote was unanimous and the motion carried. APPROVAL OF GRANT AGREEMENT: Consider authorizing the Mayor's signature on a grant agreement with the FAA for AIP Project 2-49-0030-16 in the amount of $29,833 for costs associated with security requirements imposed on or after September 11, 2001. A motion was made by Council Member Orton and seconded by Council Member Allen to approve the grant agreement and authorize the Mayor to sign it. Mayor Pro Tem Isom called for a vote, as follows: Council Member Orton - aye Council Member Allen - aye Council Member Gardner - aye The vote was unanimous and the motion carried. APPROVAL OF GRANT AGREEMENT: Consider authorizing the Mayor's signature on a grant agreement with the FAA for Project 3-49-00606-02 for professional services and acquisition of land for the replacement airport in the amount of $3,150,000. A motion was made by Council Member Orton and seconded by Council Member Gardner to approve the grant agreement and authorize the Mayor to sign it. RESOLUTION: A motion was made by Council Member Gardner and seconded by Council Member Allen to approve the grant agreement with the FAA for Project No. 3-49-00606-02 in the amount of $3,150,000 by resolution. Mayor Pro Tem Isom called for a roll call vote, as follows: Council Member Gardner - aye Council Member Allen - aye Council Member Orton - aye The vote was unanimous and the motion carried.
