Altered book as described by the artist - "I found this old book about the French painter, Ingres, in 2005 ...in San Miguel. My ideas evolved as I played with the existing images and text within the book. Infected by the magic of Mexico, the story grew strangely surreal, much the way I thought Ingres' own artistic vision may have morphed if he did indeed spend time in San Miguel, falling in love with a mysterious bird-headed woman. |
