Dear Friends of the Museum,

Thank you for your past support of the St. George Art Museum. We truly appreciate what you have given whether it has been money or volunteer hours or both.

This year is the tenth anniversary of the art museum in the beautiful Pioneer Center for the Arts. In order to celebrate this milestone, and set a standard for future development, we will host 2007: LEGACY II FOR THE NEXT TEN YEARS. This year-long celebration will feature a birthday party on January 13, a Gala on January 27, and an ongoing and changing “Care for Art” exhibit. There will be Founder Talks every 1st Thursday at 7pm for the first six months of 2007. We will have exhibits by the Color Country Camera Club, the Southern Utah Watercolor Society, the Visual Artists Association, and the Quilt Guild-all so that many people in our community will have an opportunity to exhibit. We will also show changing aspects of our permanent collection throughout the year.

The Museum’s past efforts in creating the Adult Study and Family Discovery Centers are increasingly popular, as are the 3rd Thursday Conversations and free day. Our exhibits too have reached larger and larger numbers of visitors. Finally our permanent collection is now available for viewing on our website, which was a major project of 2006.

This year more than ever we ask you to make an additional contribution to the St. George Art Museum and the Annual Appeal, as we work to fill ten frames of “ART THAT GOES BEYOND” during 2007. Various museum fundraising efforts will go to filling frames, and so there are many ways to help:

By giving to the Annual Appeal, you will help fund the purchase of a piece of art by an artist not currently represented in the permanent collection. Our goal is to set a high standard of art purchases (gifts of art are always welcome) for the next decade and to encourage philanthropic efforts so that as the community grows, the St. George Art Museum will also continue to grow with ever finer art and exhibits.
