Ballet Dance Program
Instructor, Broklyn Gretsch, grew up locally and received much of her dance training from Westside Studio of Performing Arts. She then received a BFA in Ballet Performance from Utah Valley University. Broklyn is ABT® Certified Teacher, who has completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 5 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum.
Pre-Primary Ballet - Designed for ages 3-4 (must turn three by September 1st). Emphasis is on creating a joy of movement while integrating terminology and fundamentals of classical ballet.
Primary Ballet: Levels A- Designed for ages 5-8 (must turn five by December 1st). This class aims to create a strong ballet foundation while emphasizing a developing love of movement through creative imagery. No prior experience is required.
Primary Ballet: Levels B- Designed for ages 6-7 (must turn six by December 1st). This class aims to create a strong ballet foundation while emphasizing a developing love of movement through creative imagery. It is highly recommended that 6-year-olds have previous dance experience.
Ballet Level 1 - Designed for ages 8+ (must turn eight by December 1st). This class follows the traditional ballet format, starting with barre exercises and ending with center floor work. This class builds a strong foundation, improves alignment, and expands ballet vocabulary. Prior experience, although not required, is strongly recommended.
Dress Code for Dance Program
Pre-Primary Ballet- Hair must be pulled away from the face, in a bun if possible. Leotard and tights and teacher-approved pink ballet shoes. Girls: Pink ballet skirt or attached skirt (no tutus) Boys: Black ballet skippers, fitted t-shirt, black dance pants or shorts.
Primary Ballet- Hair must be pulled away from the face. Long hair should be in a bun or a French twist Girls: Pink ballet slippers, leotard, tights and skirt. Boys: Black ballet skippers, fitted T-shirt, black dance pants or shorts.
Ballet 1- Hair must be pulled away from the face. Long hair should be in a bun or a French twist. Girls: Pink ballet slippers, leotard, tights and skirt. Boys: Black ballet skippers, fitted T-shirt, black dance pants or shorts.
PRICING INFORMATION
Ballet Classes - $30/month for residents; $35/month for non-residents. Class meets once a week for 4 weeks total.
