Pickleball
The tennis courts at Vernon Worthen Park were turned into Pickleball Courts. Balls and Paddles can be rented for $5.00 from the Recreation Center which is across the street from the Pickleball Courts. This mini-tennis game is played by 2 or 4 people on a badminton-sized court using wood paddle racquets and a plastic ball with holes. Pickleball is a combination of Ping-Pong, tennis, and badminton and has been enjoyed for over 20 years by people of all ages.
